What started out as an idea for teaching children to skateboard in a safe and responsible way soon evolved and refined itself into the programme we offer today.
The Sk8 Safe Programme is recognised by School Sports Coordinators, the Police, County Councils and Youth Organisations throughout the North East of England, for deliverying truly unique results in engaging young people from very different cultural backgrounds.
The reward is in its ability to encourage children who are less interested in traditional sports to realise that there is an avenue for them to take part in a sporting activity which allows them to shine. In particular, gifted and challenging children have proved to give some of the most remarkable results.
Our programme of tuition has been developed by a team of experienced skateboarders who have broken down all of the elements of skateboarding into a deliverable teaching aid which can be implemented with ease. The Sk8 Safe teaching aid offers a comprehensive set of teachers' notes with supporting diagrammatic presentations of the goals and objectives of skateboarding from Basic Level through to Intermediate and Advanced skills groups. We ensure that all are considered equal, we remove fear, promote equality and social interaction through responsible skateboarding.
We take complete beginners and give them skills which they are unlikely to strive for without encouragement either in schools or youth groups or at leisure centres.
